Thank your so much!! My stamp supplies are Speedy Carve and gouge/knife are also from Speedball. The same material as you have. For small lines I press less in my Speedy Carve. It takes some effort but pays off very beautifully. If you begin with the thick part of your lines and end the line with less pressure, you'll get this result.

whoops, sorry. I use a MDF plate. Make small blocks out of it.
So the whole stamp is made by hand.
